The Secret Menu: 225 Exclusive Cocktails Now Available
Is a secret really a secret if we share it with our 100+ 225 Club members?
We think so.
Now available at The Block Distilling Co. Tasting Room: The Secret Menu.
The cocktails on this menu will not be on the Bar Menu the public sees, but we’ll have all the fixin’s for these cocktails behind the bar, ready to make for you as soon as you order. In other words, if you know, you know!
The first cocktail on the Secret Menu is the Winnebago. If you were a 225 Club Member in 2020, you remember the Winnebago from our Amaro release party. It’s a 1:1 combination of our Amaro and an Apéritif.
This cocktail is a bitter one, herbal, a bit sweet and a bit strong. It has a lot going on. We love it, can’t get enough of it really, so we wanted to make sure those of you who love it too also have access to it.
The Recipe
The Winnebago
+ 1 oz The Block Distilling Co. Amaro
+ 1 oz The Block Distilling Co. Apéritif
Add Amaro and Apéritif in a rocks glass over a big cube. Stir and express an orange peel over the cocktail. Serve.
The Story Behind The Winnebago
If you’re like me and love a good bitter cocktail, The Ferrari is an old trusty. What is a Ferrari? 1 part Fernet-Branca (a bitter digestif) and 1 part Campari (a bitter but citrus forward aperitif) make a Ferrari.
When we made Amaro to be released for 225 Club, we couldn’t serve a “Ferrari” with its’ name being based on two other brands.
Taking into consideration the more cheeky, down-to-earth nature of us Weavers, I decided on “Winnebago.” The inspiration truly comes around a 1969 Winnebago motor home that used to be in my neighborhood (see photo below). The crazy lines, boxy nature, and in the case of this one, flat black badassery.
I’m excited to add the Winnebago as the first cocktail on the Secret Menu because it’s one of my all-time favorites.
I’d love to know which of our 225 cocktails YOU want to see on the Secret Menu. Let us know at the next 225 Release Party.
